HIGH PERFORMANCE

As the level of volleyball has increased and interest in the sport has grown, NVP has sought to fill the gap in high performance (HP) sports programming in Nunavik. A strong HP program complements our Community program, responds to the right to sport[1], and contributes to a more complete sport development pathway[2]. Every athlete is going to have different goals in the sport but, regardless, we hope to equip them with the tools to reach their full potential. The NVP athletes who have broken through onto college and provincial teams are a testament to their individual commitment and dedication and to all that can be accomplished when Nunavik athletes are given the resources to excel.

Our High Performance program differs from tradition elite sporting programs in that we emphasize the high performance mindset over physical or sporting ability. We believe that this mindset (work ethic, commitment and intrinsic motivation) produces greater success in the long-term, both on and off the court, as well as contribute positively to a high performance practice environment for all.
